For fewer crowds in the summer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">visit during a weekday rather than over the weekend.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_Long_Should_I_Stay_in_Portland\"><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">How Long Should I Stay in Portland?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You could easily spend weeks in Portland and the surrounding area. If you\u2019re looking to stay in the city<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you could easily see the main sites of Portland in 48 hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re interested in taking day trips to the Oregon coast, wine tasting, or hiking waterfall trails in the Columbia River Gorge, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would add 2-3 extra days to your trip. I recommend taking at least one day trip outside of Portland!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Should_I_Rent_a_Car\"><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18pt;\">Should I Rent a Car?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portland has a convenient<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/trimet.org\/max\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> MAX light rail<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and bus system, but if you plan on taking my recommendations for any day trips, I recommend renting a car! If you rent a car, parking downtown is easy and low cost. We never paid more than $15 a day for downtown parking.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The city also has several bike share programs (including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biketownpdx.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Biketown<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which has 100 stations across the city) if biking around downtown is more your style. Silver Falls State Park is 70 miles from downtown Portland.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The whole trial is all within a 7.2 mile loop through the beautiful lush foothills of the Cascade Mountains.\u00a0 They have well-marked trail signs with the name of each <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">water<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">fall so you know you won\u2019t miss them. <\/span><b>Some trails even go behind the waterfalls<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for stunning views!\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I would recommend around two to three hours to complete this hike.
